Layer Composition

Post-production played a crucial role in the final outcome of the project. Render passes are essentially separate layers of information extracted from renders. Each pass isolates different visual elements, making it easier to adjust and perfect specific aspects of the image.

Explanation on Render Passes

Render passes (or render elements) are used to separate different aspects of the scenes to give  more control in post-production work. Each pass captures a specific part of the scene or lighting information, allowing to make adjustments more easily in compositing using Photoshop.

Direct

This pass shows direct light hitting surfaces, excluding indirect or bounced light. We adjusted the intensity or color of direct lighting by masking at the floor and the ceiling.

Reflect

This pass captures only the reflections in the scene, which we used to adjust the intensity and clarity of reflections, especially on the floor and ceiling where they are most prominent.

Refract

The refraction effects, capturing how light bends through transparent materials. We refined the look by masking refraction intensity to improve the visibility of objects through glass

Bloom

This pass shows the blooming effect, we masked certain light sources to make it appear to bleed and spread, adding more visual impact to bright areas.

Light Select

Light Select isolates each light source in the scene, allowing us to adjust and balance lighting precisely by masking specific areas.

By composing these passes, detailed control over various aspects of the render in post-production in photoshop by masking it. This flexibility allowed us to enhance specific details, corrected issues, and fine-tuned the final image to achieve the desired results.
